Paul McCartney’s ex-wife has blasted the former Beatle, saying he is only working with Rihanna and Kanye West so people “remember who he is”.
Heather Mills who was once married to the singer-songwriter for four years until 2006, told The Late Late Show in Ireland that most people associated her with animal activism or her skiing career, not her marriage to McCartney.
“If I go down the street, all I get is kids coming up to me”, she said. “Half of them don’t even know who he is. That’s why he’s got to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West, so people remember.
“Most of the time I have people going, Oh my God, you’re a ski racer’ or ‘You help the animals’.”
Mills also downplayed McCartney’s contribution to music.
“This is just someone I fell in love with who to me was a normal guy who happened to write a few cool songs in the ’60s and a few in the ’70s,” she said.
